My name is Rick Johnston., and this is my blog.
I’m originally from Greenville, S.C., and currently live in Matthews, N.C., just outside of Charlotte.
I work as an editor for bizjournals, a division of American City Business Journals, a media company that owns a lot of business-oriented newspapers and other publications across the country.
I have a great group of friends, and, most important, a wonderful, caring and beautiful WIFE! Melanie and I married on Jan. 31 and are getting our home put together slowly but surely.
I enjoy both playing and watching sports. I obsess about the comings and going of my University of South Carolina Fighting Gamecocks. I play a ton of softball in the spring and summer, maybe a little too much. Of course, my disastrous church softball season this summer has me questioning my future. I need the offseason to come around, and quick!
I’ve also kinda sorta taken up running. It’s great exercise, but, I have little desire to ever do something like a marathon.
I also love movies and music, I have a constantly growing DVD collection, and I love to go on road trips and take a lot of photos.
So … pretty much anything and everything that you’ll find on this site has to do with the people, places and activities above. Read, react, comment.
